I have never been so mad in my entire life and because of that automobiles, it just ruined the rest of my week. I hate it that when you try to overtake a vehicle and the driver does not want to. It’s like he or she does want to get overstepped on and tries to overtake you again and will even try to challenge you just for that.

I do not know what is going on with people’s minds nowadays. They just take things too seriously and by heart. Well for me, I don’t. I do not want to do car racing or any type of race for that matter. I am not competitive and I surely do not want to get injured or into an accident. But I do love sports like archery and chess.

I am not that type of person that loves to run and jump all the time. I am also not hyper and hype into things. You may call me boring and plain but that is just me. you can call me whatever you want and I just let it pass through my other ear.

Segovia (population 49,078) is 88 km north-west of Madrid. A city characterized by two very different things: its perfectly preserved Roman aqueduct, which vaults over the town centre, and its mouthwatering roast suckling-pig and baby lamb. Apart from the hearty wines of the region, you can wash down your meal with water which even today is carried across the top of that tall and graceful aqueduct. The only difference nowadays is that, since 1929, the water has been carried in pipes which lie on the top of the structure, in the trough where the water used to flow freely.

Pliny wrote of Segovia that it resisted Roman attacks until 80 BC, when the Consul Tito Didio destroyed it, only to rebuild it later. It was one of the key cities of the Iberian Peninsula in Roman times. In the Middle Ages also it was important as the capital of Castile.

Its fabulous spike-spired Alcazar, a fortress-palace, was rebuilt several times on the ruins of previous ones. The present building, with its formidable walls, its deep moat crossed by a drawbridge and its conical towers, was built in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries and enlarged in the fifteenth. It looks like a fairy-tale castle and some say it inspired Walt Disney. You can roam through much of its interior and climb the high tower overlooking the drawbridge, if you are in shape, but you can no longer visit the dungeons. Open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Three twelfth-century churches deserve a visit: San Martin, which houses a painting and sculpture museum; San Milian, the best Romanesque church in town, conserving parts of murals painted more than 700 years ago, and San Esteban, the bell tower of which is known as ‘the queen of Byzantine towers’.

Just 11 km away is the Riofrio Palace built by Philip V’s widow Isabel de Farnesio, which houses a Hunting Museum. Children will be delighted to see the large number ofdeer in the woods surrounding the palace. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 7 p.m. (in winter to 5 p.m.); and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays and holidays.

Some 11 km away on the other side of Segovia is La Granja (population 4,588), also known as San Ildefonso, where there is a delightful airy summer palace now used only as a museum. The dozens of large fountains are turned on only on special occasions. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 5.30 p.m. It is 77 km from Madrid.

This lovely, virtually unchanged ancient walled town 30 km northeast of Segovia, with its austere sixteenth-century castle, works like a time-machine for anyone walking through its quiet streets. Daytrippers from Madrid and Segovia flock here at weekends.

Where to stay

Los Linajes, Dr Velasco 9. Tel. (911) 431 201. A little gem, this hotel in an old house on a narrow street of Segovia, with all the charm of arched doorways, zig-zag passageways, lots of thick stone and brick walls that will stand until doomsday, attentive service and, surprisingly, even a place to park the car.

Roma, Calle Guardas 2, La Granja (11 km south-east of Segovia). Tel. (911) 470 752. In the centre of San Ildefonso, and in an attractive location near the summer palace. Although the hotel is cheaper in the winter, there is likely to be snow, and it is quite a long way from the ski-runs. In the other seasons, however, this is a pleasant base for trips in the area. Sarah writes for allpro and loves her superbowl each year.

Most people this summer are sitting at their houses pondering what to do for their special trip for the year. Well first of all, the best thing for a trip longer than a weekend for a couple or a family is to travel internationally. Not only will this enlighten you culturally as you experience totally different societies but it also allows you to escape the pressures and stress that may be present back at home. That is what a vacation is ultimately for correct, to get away? Now once you have decided that you want to travel internationally, the next item at hand is to where you want to go.

Tunis, the capital city of the country of Tunisia, is home to some extraordinary landscapes and architecture that you definitely want to see. Whether it is at the Court of Dar Soulaimania admiring the beautiful design of the building or visiting the ancient ruins of Carthage, you will not be disappointed. The best way to go on a new adventure is to step a little outside of your boundaries and try something you would not normally. This way, once finished with that task, you will feel more fulfilled than ever before. A country like Tunisia is perfect because it still offers a lot of attractions for tourists without the overwhelming number of tourists you can find at popular spots in different countries.

Tunisiaholidays.org.uk along with other online sources will help you direct and plan your trip this summer. Make sure to plan ahead so your experience can be a good and safe one. But most important of all, get out there into the world and expand your horizon; after all, you do only live once.
